The New York City 2006 Air Guitar Regional Regional Championship took place at the Knitting Factory in New York City, on the first week of March. I have to say that I've filmed cosplayers, porn stars, comic fanatics and film stars, and yet I've never seen energy so fantastically displayed as I saw it that night. Those brave performers who "played" to a pack house (even an intern from VH1 couldn't get in) did a phenomenal job, rocking their invisible instrument in hopes to gain a chance to "play" at the World Air Guitar championships in Finland later this year.
